David Legaz Bio
After a successful career as one of New York’s Finest, Dave retired as a Sergeant in 2002 after responding to the 9/11World Trade Center tragedy and losing his partner. As a NYS Real Estate Instructor, he combines his years of law enforcement with real estate, as he teaches Real Estate Safety classes within his franchise, Realtor Associations and across the country. He has a numerous CE Realtor Safety Classes approved at NYS.
Dave is also a Board of Director with the Beverly Carter Foundation, whose mission is to ensure that real estate agent safety remains top-of-mind. He is the 2019 NY State Association of REALTORS® Secretary /Treasurer and was the 2017 Long Island Board of REALTORS® President.
He has been a National Association of REALTORS® Director since 2013, a NY State Association of REALTORS® Director since 2012 and chairs and serves on many National, State and Local committees. Dave’s desire for continuous knowledge has led him to acquire several designations such as: ABR (Accredited Buyer’s Representative), AHWD (At Home With Diversity), CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist, CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), e-Pro, GRI (Graduate, REALTOR® Institute), RSPS (Resort and Second Home Property Specialist) & SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist).
